Job summary

Nova Partners Limited in Hong Kong seeks a senior Financial Management professional at VP/D level to lead finance strategy, partner with business teams, review contracts, and drive pricing and governance.

The ideal candidate has a finance degree, CPA, 7+ years in financial services or related sectors, strong tax and treasury knowledge, Mandarin fluency, and proven leadership to build cash flow models and strategic plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field; CPA a strong plus.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant finance experience with exposure to tax/finance management, budgeting and business partnering.
• Experience in financial services (family offices, asset management, insurance brokerage, trust, wealth management, investment banking) is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of onshore and offshore tax, finance and treasury practices; able to drive operational improvements.
• Proficient in MS Office and Chinese word processing; advanced Excel; capable of building sophisticated financial models and conducting investment appraisals.

Responsibilities

• Drive deep integration between finance and business operations; collaborate with business teams on planning and project evaluation.
• Coordinate profits tax filings, audits, and transfer pricing; oversee liquidity planning and cash flow management.
• Develop and implement financial policies and SOPs tailored to the HK operating environment; enhance internal control systems.
• Lead the annual budgeting process for the Hong Kong entity; conduct monthly rolling forecasts and variance analyses; monitor revenue, costs, assets, equity.

Financial Management (VP/D Level)

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Partnership & Decision Support Drive deep integration between finance and business operations; collaborate closely with business teams (covering licensed service entities such as trusts and insurers) throughout strategic planning and project evaluation. Review financial terms in contracts and transactions, proactively identify and mitigate fiscal/tax compliance exposures, and provide financial assessments and recommendations on service pricing strategies.
2. Tax Compliance & Treasury Management Maintain in‑depth knowledge of HKFRS/HKAS and local tax regulations; coordinate profits tax filings, annual audits, and transfer pricing for the business unit; and oversee liquidity planning and cash flow management.
3. Internal Control & Cross‑functional Alignment Tailor and implement financial policies and SOPs that suit the Hong Kong operating environment; leverage digital tools to continuously enhance the financial management framework and internal control systems.
4. Comprehensive Budget Oversight Lead the annual budgeting process for the Hong Kong entity, conduct monthly rolling forecasts and variance analyses, track core operating metrics (revenue, costs, expenses, assets, equity), and reinforce performance‑based incentive alignment.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; professional qualifications such as CPA are a strong plus.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant finance experience; candidates with combined exposure to tax/finance management, budgeting, and business partnering are preferred.
• Prior experience in financial services (e.g., family offices, asset management, insurance brokerage, trust, wealth management, investment banking) is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of both onshore and offshore tax, finance, and treasury practices, with the ability to systematically drive operational improvements.
• Proficient in MS Office and Chinese word processing; advanced Excel skills, with the capability to independently build sophisticated financial models and conduct investment appraisals and business analysis.
• Proven leadership and team management abilities, including effective cross‑departmental collaboration.
• Open‑minded and adaptable to evolving business environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and self‑motivated attitude.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese; Mandarin proficiency is mandatory.
