The Meliora Group Limited seeks a Financial Controller for the Insurance Industry to lead regional finance across APAC, including Singapore, Hong Kong, and China. The role focuses on financial reporting, consolidation, treasury, and insurance accounting, driving system projects to enhance accuracy and automation.
The ideal candidate holds a CPA/ACCA with 15+ years of finance experience, strong multi-entity consolidation, audits in APAC, and hands-on treasury and ERP implementation leadership.
Our client is one of the leading international institution in insurance market. They are currently looking for a senior finance leader overseeing regional financial reporting, consolidation, treasury, insurance accounting, and system projects across APAC.
Key responsibilities
Lead regional finance functions across Singapore, Hong Kong, and China, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Oversee the consolidation of financial statements, including intercompany eliminations and currency translations.
Standardize accounting policies, reporting processes, and chart of accounts across all entities.
Manage and develop a high-performing regional finance team, including controllers and accounting staff.
Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes meet compliance standards (IFRS/local GAAP).
Oversee treasury operations, cash flow management, banking relationships, and FX hedging strategies.
Monitor and implement insurance accounting standards, such as IFRS 17, affecting group reporting.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, statutory, and audit requirements across all jurisdictions.
Lead ERP and finance system projects to improve automation, data quality, and reporting efficiency.
Requirement:
Bachelor's degree and professional CPA/ACCA qualification, with 15+ years of finance experience, including senior regional leadership.
Strong background in multi-entity consolidation, insurance sector experience, and managing external audits in APAC, with China market expereince is highly preferred.
Hands-on treasury management skills, including cash flow forecasting, bank relationships, FX risk, and funding structures.
Proven experience leading ERP/system implementations and aligning finance processes with IT systems.
Excellent technical accounting knowledge, leadership ability, stakeholder management.
