Job summary

The Financial Controller at a Hong Kong–based virtual bank will oversee daily finance operations, ensuring accuracy of financial records, regulatory compliance, and timely reporting to support the bank's strategic objectives.

You will lead the budgeting, forecasting, and tax planning; implement robust internal controls; liaise with external auditors; ensure HKFRS compliance; and coach the finance team to deliver high‑quality financial insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or relevant field; masters degree or professional qualification (e.g., HKICPA, ACCA, CFA) highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HKFRS and financial reporting requirements for banks.
• Experience in leading finance teams within banking or financial services is essential.

Job Summary

The Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in our bank's financial management functions. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the finance department, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support the bank's objectives.

• Ensure compliance with the Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards (HKFRS), as well as other regulatory financial reporting requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or relevant field; masters degree or professional qualification (e.g., HKICPA, ACCA, CFA) highly preferred.


• Minimum of 10 years of accounting and financial experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role within the banking sector.


• Proficiency in financial reporting requirements and regulations specific to Hong Kong and international financial institutions.


• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.


• Exceptional leadership qualities and the ability to manage and develop a high-performing finance team.


• Fluent in English and Cantonese, both verbal and written.


• Mandarin proficiency is a plus.


• Advanced knowledge of financial systems and software, including proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems.
