Job summary

Rongsheng Petrochemical (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. Hong Kong unit seeks an experienced finance leader to oversee accounting and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance across the entity.

You will manage full sets of accounts, coordinate with Singapore and China teams, lead month-end close, liaise with auditors and drive policy improvements for the newly established HK office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/ACCA is an advantage.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant accounting and finance experience in petrochemicals/oil and gas.
• Experience in Big Four audit is an advantage.
• Strong technical accounting, financial reporting, month-end closing, and internal controls.
• Knowledge of derivatives accounting and commodity-trading transactions is an advantage.
• Familiar with HK statutory reporting, audit and tax requirements.
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Mandarin for coordination with stakeholders.
• Independent, detail-oriented, commercially aware with good judgment and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the HK entity’s accounting and finance operations with timely financial records.
• Manage full sets of accounts including AR/AP, GL, fixed assets and month-end journals.
• Supervise accounting work by remote support team including reconciliations and month-end closings.
• Handle complex accounting matters, review significant journal entries and discrepancies.
• Lead monthly and annual closing, review financial statements and management reports.
• Coordinate with Singapore and China teams to ensure clear workflows and documentation.
• Establish and enhance accounting policies and internal controls for the new HK office.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants and other service providers for compliance.
• Liaise with headquarters in China and Singapore on reporting and intercompany matters.
• Support finance systems setup, process improvements and finance-related projects.

Job description

• Oversee the Hong Kong entity’s accounting and finance operations, with accountability for the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of financial records and reporting.
• Manage full sets of accounts, including sales and purchase recognition, accounts receivable and payable, expenses, accruals, month-end journals, fixed assets and depreciation, and general ledger maintenance.
• Supervise accounting work prepared by the remote support team, including general ledger entries, AR/AP, sales and purchase transactions, accruals, reconciliations and month-end closing schedules.
• Handle complex accounting matters, review significant journal entries and accounting treatments, and resolve material discrepancies or exceptions.
• Lead monthly and annual closing, review financial statements and management reports,
• Coordinate with the Singapore office reporting line and China-based support team to ensure clear workflows, appropriate documentation and resolution of accounting issues.
• Establish and enhance accounting policies, review controls, approval processes and finance procedures appropriate for a newly established Hong Kong office.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants and other service providers on Hong Kong statutory reporting, audit and tax compliance requirements.
• Liaise with headquarters in China as well as Singapore office on reporting requirements, financial information and intercompany matters.
• Support finance systems setup, process improvements and other finance-related projects as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; CPA, ACCA or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant accounting and finance experience. Background in petrochemicals, oil and gas, commodity trading, or related sectors is a strong advantage.
• Experience in a Big Four accounting firm or relevant external audit experience is an advantage.
• Strong technical accounting, financial reporting, month-end closing, balance‑sheet review and internal‑control capabilities.
• Knowledge of derivatives accounting and commodity‑trading transactions is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Hong Kong statutory reporting, audit and tax requirements is preferred.
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Mandarin for coordination with Singapore and China stakeholders.
• Independent, detail‑oriented and commercially aware, with sound judgment, strong analytical skills and the ability to operate in a newly established office.
