Job summary

WilliamSELECT, a fast-growing luxury e-commerce platform, seeks an experienced Finance Director to lead financial strategy across multiple international markets including Mainland China, APAC and the Middle East. You will partner with the CEO and market leaders to drive profitable growth, governance, and data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in CFO/Finance Director or VP Finance roles.
• Experience in high-growth retail, luxury, e-commerce or omnichannel businesses.
• Mandatory: professional experience managing finance, tax and currency matters in Mainland China.
• Proven experience building or scaling finance functions (FP&A and analytics).
• Experience implementing or improving ERP, financial systems, reporting tools and finance automation.
• Strong commercial acumen linking financial performance to business strategy.
• Advanced financial modelling and analytics with tools like Power BI and automated reporting systems.
• Understanding of financial, tax, regulatory and currency requirements across Mainland China, APAC and the Middle East.

My Client is a fast-growing luxury e-commerce platform connecting leading fashion and lifestyle brands with consumers across multiple international markets. With a strong presence across Asia, the business is focused on combining digital commerce, retail and brand partnerships. They are hiring an experienced Finance Director to take a strategic leadership role in a multi-market retail and e-commerce business.

This is a key position within the leadership team, partnering closely with the CEO and senior market leaders to drive profitable growth, strengthen financial governance and support expansion across multiple international markets.

You will be responsible not only for overseeing the finance function, but also for using financial insights, data and commercial analysis to influence business decisions and shape the company's long-term growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead the company's overall financial strategy to support sustainable growth and profitability
• Oversee P&L performance across multiple markets, including annual budgets, forecasts and monthly financial reviews
• Drive margin improvement, cost optimisation and disciplined capital allocation
• Manage cash flow and working capital to support regional expansion and business growth
• Partner closely with the CEO and market Managing Directors / GMs on key commercial and financial decisions
• Build and maintain strong financial controls, policies and governance frameworks across multiple markets.
• Oversee treasury, cash management, tax compliance and audit activities across different jurisdictions.
• Manage financial reporting and compliance requirements across international entities.
• Work closely with external auditors and local finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with local regulations.
• Manage the complexities of operating across markets, including Mainland China and the Middle East.
• Lead the development of a modern, data-driven finance function.
• Build and enhance FP&A capabilities, financial models, dashboards and management reporting.
• Use data and analytics to provide clear insights into revenue, margins, sell-through, inventory and overstock performance.
• Explore and implement AI and technology solutions to improve finance processes and workflows.
• Oversee sustainability and ESG-related financial data and reporting, including carbon footprint and emissions tracking.
• Develop financial models and scenarios for growth, pricing and inventory strategies.
• Assess brand partnership and commercial opportunities from both a revenue and profitability perspective.
• Work effectively with senior stakeholders across different countries and functions.

Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of financial, tax, regulatory and currency requirements across Mainland China, APAC and ideally the Middle East.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and rapidly changing environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders constructively.
• High emotional intelligence, sound judgement and the ability to communicate complex financial matters clearly to non-finance leaders.
• A hands‑on, commercially minded approach, with the ability to operate strategically while remaining close to the details when required.
