Job summary

Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) seeks a reliable accounting manager to supervise day-to-day activities across head offices and subsidiaries, including payments and vouchers and budget control.

The role requires a qualified accountant with 7+ years’ experience, strong knowledge of government funding policies, and excellent communication. You will lead a team, coordinate with auditors and tax advisors, and drive budgeting and forecasting.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with a Degree in Accounting or related discipline.
• 7+ years’ relevant experience, preferably in the public sector or sizable organisations; Big 4 managerial experience is an advantage.
• Good understanding of government funding policies and procedures; meticulous rules.
• Strong attention to detail, integrity and professionalism.
• A self-motivator and team player to handle duties with tight deadlines.
• Strong sense of ownership; able to multitask.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS Office; FLEX accounting system knowledge is an advantage.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, monitor, and review all day-to-day accounting activities of head offices and subsidiaries, including payments, vouchers, and budgetary control.
• Conduct month-end closing and produce financial and management reports to ensure compliance with policies and guidelines.
• Adhere to proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Lead, supervise and provide guidance to subordinates.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors and tax advisors.
• Prepare a yearly and long-term budget plan.
• Prepare a monthly forecast on operating expenditure and cash flow.
• Implement internal control policies and procedures in accordance with statutory and Government funding requirements.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
