Job summary

Cornerstone Robotics seeks a field service engineer to travel overseas for after-sales support of medical devices, including on-site installation, commissioning and testing.

You will train customers on operation, collect feedback, manage maintenance plans and parts inventory, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while collaborating with sales and support teams.

Fluency in English is required; Cantonese/Mandarin are a plus. Based in Hong Kong with international travel opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of after-sales or clinical support experience in medical devices.
• Familiar with assembly processes and precautions for mechanical and electronic products.
• Able to read mechanical drawings, 3D diagrams, and hardware circuit diagrams.
• Willing to travel overseas frequently and adapt to different working environments.
• Excellent command of English; Cantonese and Mandarin are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travel overseas to provide after-sales service for medical devices, including on-site installation, commissioning, and testing of components.
• Explain functions, usage, and installation procedures of components to customers.
• Provide training on operation, pre-surgery prep, and post-surgery disassembly; assist in building localized service capabilities.
• Collect and track customer feedback issues.
• Evaluate damaged components, prepare replacements, and perform repairs within the required timeframe.
• Create maintenance plans and conduct regular system maintenance and inspections.
• Manage after-sales maintenance inventory and storage.
• Assist sales teams with trade shows and customer demonstrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for smooth handover between technical and case support.
• Ensure all field activities comply with regulatory requirements and maintain service records.

Job description

• Responsible for travelling overseas to provide after-sales service for medical devices, including but not limited to on-site installation, commissioning, and testing of functional components.
• Introduce the functions, usage, and installation procedures of the machine's various components and instruments to the customers.
• Provide systematic training on machine operation, pre-surgery preparation, and post-surgery disassembly and assist in building localized service capabilities.
• Collect, record and track issues from the customer feedback.
• Analyse and evaluate potentially damaged components, identify defective components, prepare the required replacements, and carry out repair tasks within the specified timeframe based on customer feedback.
• Formulate after-sales maintenance plans and schedules, and conduct regular system maintenance, inspections, and component replacement at designated locations.
• Manage after-sales maintenance inventory and storage according to the product design lifespan.
• Assist sales teams with trade show support and customer demonstrations as required.
• Collaborate with cross-function teams to ensure seamless handover between technical and case support.
• Ensure all field service activities comply with regulatory requirements and maintain accurate service records for traceability.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical, Electronic, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 2+ years of after-sales or clinical support experience in medical devices, preferably in surgical robotics or endoscopic equipment.
• Familiar with the assembly processes and precautions for mechanical components and electronic products, as well as electronic product testing processes.
• Able to read mechanical engineering drawings, mechanical 3D diagrams, and hardware circuit diagrams.
• Excellent command of English is a must — both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate confidently with overseas clients and distributors. Proficiency in Cantonese and Mandarin is an advantage.
• Willing to travel overseas frequently and adapt to different working environments.
• Able to work independently and make decisions in high-pressure situations.
