Job summary

Aurex Group is partnering with a leading global contractor to identify a Façade Concept Design Lead to drive concept design and early-stage services across complex building envelope projects.

This client-facing leadership role requires a commercially minded façade design professional who can translate innovative concepts into buildable façade solutions, working with clients, architects and suppliers to shape winning strategies from early engagement through tender.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Architecture, Engineering or Façade Engineering.
• Experience in façades, building envelope, curtain walling or cladding.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary façade design teams.
• Strong knowledge of façade systems, materials and performance requirements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead façade concept design and technical strategy for top-tier projects.
• Present innovative, commercially viable façade solutions to clients and consultants.
• Lead and mentor façade designers and engineers throughout the design-assist process.
• Coordinate design, tendering, QS, project management and supply-chain teams.
• Oversee early-stage façade system design and value engineering.
• Explore materials, procurement, mock-ups and installation options.
• Build strong client and consultant relationships and identify new market opportunities.

This is a fantastic opportunity to move into a client-facing leadership role for a commercially minded façade design professional who can turn innovative concepts into buildable, cost-effective façade solutions. You will work closely with clients, architects, consultants, suppliers and internal teams to shape winning façade strategies from early engagement through tender.

Responsibilities

• Lead façade concept design and technical strategy for top-tier building envelope projects.
• Present innovative, commercially viable façade solutions to clients, architects and consultants.
• Lead and mentor façade designers and engineers throughout the design-assist process.
• Coordinate design, tendering, QS, project management and supply-chain teams.
• Oversee early-stage façade system design, engineering input, value engineering and tender information.
• Explore façade materials, procurement, mock-up, prototyping and installation options to support successful delivery.
• Build strong client and consultant relationships while identifying new market opportunities.

To be considered

• Degree-qualified in Architecture, Engineering, Façade Engineering or a related discipline; relevant industry experience will also be considered.
• Strong design and commercial experience within façades, building envelope, curtain walling, cladding or related specialist construction sectors.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary façade design teams.
• Solid knowledge of façade systems, materials, building physics, performance requirements and technical design processes.
• Commercially astute, with the ability to balance design ambition, budget, programme, performance and buildability.
• Confident communication and presentation skills, able to engage senior internal and external stakeholders.
• Comfortable managing complex façade projects and multiple workstreams.
