Job summary

Permasteelisa Gartner Retail in Hong Kong seeks a Lead Concept Designer, a facade specialist responsible for concept design engineering, sales and tendering, procurement, manufacturing, installation and maintenance. Location:

As Lead Concept Designer, you are an all-around facade specialist with first-hand experience across all stages - from system concept design engineering to sales & tendering, procurement & manufacturing, and installation & maintenance. You will drive winning, highly differentiated project strategies and enforce technical design excellence during early-stage involvement with architects and clients through securing and developing Concept Assist Services (CAS) and Pre-Construction Services (PCS) engagements. Working closely with the Global Retail Design and Business Development Director, you serve as the primary authority for steering early-stage projects - de-risking complex builds across design, engineering, constructability, procurement, cost optimization, quality control, logistics, and prototyping prior to project execution.

What qualities and competencies are needed?

• Customized material and contracting specialist who actively explores manufacturer and supplier capabilities and techniques.


• Strong commercial accuman with proven experience in pricing and value engineering.


• Deep technical knowledge and first-hand experience in facade construction, with several years of experience in the facade industry (e.g., as a system design leader, tender design leader, or facade consultant).


• Solid track record of bringing architectural design concepts to buildable, practical solutions.


• Ability to use analytical skills to advise clients and translate their requirements into actionable strategies for sales, tender, and design teams.


• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a natural aptitude for connecting with people.


• Ability to identify market trends and technical innovations at an early stage.


• Proven ability to lead multiple projects and cross-functional teams simultaneously.


• Enthusiasm for working internationally and traveling as needed.


• Proficiency in English; fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is definitely an advantage.


• Existing personal network within the facade market is an advantage.
