Job summary

TAL Apparel in Hong Kong seeks an experienced procurement and supply chain professional to source fabrics and trims, manage supplier relationships, and support cost-saving initiatives. The role collaborates with sales and merchandising to align product requirements with supplier capabilities.

Applicants should have 4–5 years in supply chain functions, with textile/apparel exposure preferred, and strong English and Mandarin communication. A 5-day week and ongoing training are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree holder with preference in Textile & Clothing.
• 4-5 years of experience in supply chain management functions in manufacturing, consumer goods or retail.
• Experience in textile/apparel industry is a plus.
• Solid understanding of order management, supplier management, lead times and quality.
• Strong communication and customer servicing mindset.
• Excellent command in English & Mandarin.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Source and develop fabric and trims, manage samples, testing and approvals.
• Understand product ranges and supplier capabilities to identify suitable development partners.
• Collaborate with Sales, Merchandising to translate customer needs and market trends.
• Manage procurement: RFQs, negotiate with suppliers, select best offers, bulk orders.
• Identify cost savings opportunities and support procurement initiatives.
• Maintain and develop good supplier relationships.
• Contribute to operational improvement projects.

Job description

To achieve our Company’s business targets, the incumbent shall provide services in material sourcing, development and procurement support to our Sales, Merchandising & Marketing teams and factory’s business units in order to secure orders from external customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand product ranges, price ranges and capability of different suppliers to help identify suitable suppliers for development

• Work closely with Sales & Merchandising teams to understand customer needs, requirements and overall market trends

• Source and develop fabric and trims including the management of sample ordering, testing and customer approvals

• Manage the procurement process including request for quotations, negotiate with suppliers, recommend best offer to the sales team and bulk order management

• Identify potential savings opportunities and support cost savings initiatives

• Managegoodsupplier relationships

• Participate in operational improvement projects

• Conduct research and analysis on suppliers and industry/market trends
  

Requirements

Bachelor degree holderwith preferencein Textile & Clothing

• 4-5years of experience preferably in supply chain management functions under a manufacturing, consumer goods or retail(including buying offices) setting

• Experience in textile/apparel industry is a plus
  

• Good understand of supply chain management concepts such as order management, supplier management, lead time, quality etc.
