Job summary

Match Personnel Consultancy in Hong Kong seeks an arts professional to support artefact selection, exhibition design and floor-plan drafting. The role requires museum or archive experience and skills in Photoshop/Illustrator for planning spaces.

Fluent English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin) are required, with at least one year in galleries or cultural sectors; MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Film/TV Studies, Media/Communication Studies, Fine Arts, Media Arts or equivalent (advantage).
• At least 1 year full-time galleries or cultural sector experience.
• Museum or Archive experience is a MUST.
• Experience handling artefacts and knowledge of exhibition design/coordination.
• Proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator for drafting floor plans (MUST).
• Knowledge of drafting floor plans for exhibitions (MUST).
• Strong English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin) skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere and Chinese Word Processing.

Responsibilities

• Support artefact selection for exhibitions, including transport, donor communications and storage checks.
• Assist in clearance of copyright, loaning/returning exhibits; liaise with conservators, film companies, designers and fabricators.
• Research papers, audio-visual materials and artefacts; draft text for exhibitions and publications; edit/proofread as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Job description

Degree holder; major in Film/TV Studies, Media/Communication Studies, Fine Arts, Media Arts or equivalent subjects will be an advantage

At least one-year full-time work experience in galleries or cultural sectors

Working experience in Museum or Archive is a MUST

Knowledge and experience in handling artefacts, exhibition design, project/exhibition coordination, preferably in arts or cultural sectors, especially film industry is preferred

Experience in handling artefacts, preferably in museum or cultural preservation setting is a MUST

Able to use Photoshop andIllustrator of other equivalent professional software for drafting floor plan for the thematic exhibition is a MUST

Knowledge in drafting floor plan for exhibition is a MUST

Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin)

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere and Chinese Word Processing

Responsibilities:

To support selection of artefacts for exhibitions, such as transportation of artefacts, communication with donors and storage checking

To assist in clearing copyright, loaning and returning of exhibits, to communicate with conservators to conduct artefact inspection, liaising with film companies, designers, fabricator, video artists, etc.; lining up technical supports and fabrication work, etc.

To research on paper, audio-visual materials and artefacts related to exhibitions and to write up text for exhibitions and publications; including editing and proofreading

To perform other duties assigned by the supervisors
