We are partnering with a high-performing, growth-stage Equity Long/Short hedge fund based in Hong Kong managing approximately $700M USD across global markets.
Due to expanding global coverage (APAC, US, and EMEA) and a lean, high-caliber trading desk, they are seeking an additional Execution Trader to join the team. This is not a back-office or pure execution role; they are looking for an ambitious self-starter who wants to contribute ideas, understand market volatility deeply, and work closely with senior traders.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and monitor cash equities and multi-region derivatives flow (futures, single-stock/index options, basket options, and FX hedging).
- Manage cross-border trading sessions, including participating in a structured night shift rotation to cover US and EMEA markets from the Hong Kong office.
- Monitor options data, volatility metrics, delta/gamma exposure, and short data to support portfolio risk management.
- Collaborate closely with the trading desk and research analysts to discuss market trends, risk positioning, and hedging strategies.
- Maintain relationships with key broker networks and leverage modern data/analytical tools to streamline trading operations.
Requirements
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of relevant experience, ideally from a sell-side equity derivatives desk or a buy-side trading/execution environment.
- Technical Foundation: Solid grasp of options pricing concepts, volatility (Vega, Delta, Gamma), and derivatives structures.
- Global Market Awareness: Familiarity with APAC and US market mechanics.
- Fine with night shift rotations (till 4-5am) to cover global hours.
- Mindset: A curious, proactive self-learner who goes beyond mechanical execution - someone eager to share ideas, think critically, and grow within a fast-paced environment.
- Languages: Professional proficiency in English and Cantonese/Mandarin.
What’s on Offer
- Direct Exposure: Work hand-in-hand with experienced traders and leadership with direct visibility into global portfolio management.
- Flat & Collaborative Culture: An open-minded, meritocratic environment where junior team members are encouraged to contribute trade and hedging ideas.
- Growth Path: A rare opportunity to scale alongside a rapidly growing fund with robust resources and tools.
