Job summary

ATAL Engineering Group in Hong Kong is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Officer to assist in documentation, risk assessments and EHS plans, and to support audits and inspections across projects.

The role focuses on improving EHS standards, organizing trainings, and investigating incidents to prevent recurrences, with requires degree in science/engineering and a valid Safety Officer registration.

Fluency in English and Chinese and immediate availability are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree holder or above in Science/Engineering.
• Registered Safety Officer with Labour Department.
• At least 2 years' experience in construction EHS.
• Proficient in English and Chinese, written and spoken.
• Immediate availability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and review of EHS documents, risk assessments and plans.
• Coordinate and report EHS inspections and audits at projects or sites.
• Improve EHS standards and recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents and prepare reports with preventive recommendations.
• Plan and deliver EHS trainings including induction and toolbox talks.
• Perform other reasonable duties as required.

Responsibilities

• To assist in the preparation and review of Environmental, Health Safety (EHS) management system documentation including job hazard analysis and risk assessment reports, EHS management plans, EHS instructions, etc.
• To coordinate, plan, implement and report the EHS inspections, internal and external audits of the assigned projects or operating sites on a regular basis.
• To improve the EHS standards and recommend corrective and preventive actions for malpractices identified.
• To carry out investigation of any incident and accident, prepare investigation reports and make recommendations on prevent any recurrence.
• To plan, organize and perform various EHS trainings and promotions for staff and workers. The training shall include EHS induction training, tool box training and other specific trainings as required from time to time.
• To carry out other reasonable duties as required from time to time.

Requirements

• Degree holder or above in Science/ Engineering disciplines
• A Registered Safety Officer of the Labour Department with practical experience in construction EHS of at least 2 years.
• Experience in Confined Space Work is preferable
• Good communications skills
• Good command in written and spoken English and Chinese
• Immediately available is preferred
