Bowtie Life Insurance Company in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced, hands-on Engineering Lead to guide a small cross-functional squad. You will own delivery quality, technical direction and work closely with Product, Design and Ops to ship customer-focused features.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as a senior engineer and 2+ years in a people leadership role within product engineering teams.
• Strong background building web-scale services, APIs and data-driven products.
• Familiarity with modern back-end and cloud technologies.
• Excellent communication skills with product, design and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small engineering squad (4–8 engineers) and own sprint delivery.
• Champion AI-enabled delivery within the engineering and platform teams.
• Drive technical design and architecture balancing short-term delivery with long-term scalability.
• Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams to ensure reliability, performance and security.
• Promote testing, observability, CI/CD and incident response best practices.
• Partner with Product Managers and Designers to translate customer outcomes into technical deliverables.
• Communicate progress, risks and trade-offs to stakeholders and leadership.
• Contribute to roadmap planning and prioritisation to maximise business impact.
• Participate in recruiting, interviewing and onboarding to grow a high-performing team.
• Identify skill gaps and support learning and development initiatives.
