Job summary

MTR Corporation Limited 香港鐵路有限公司 seeks a senior civil/structural professional to direct and supervise a wide range of maintenance and capital projects across railway infrastructure. You will lead technical teams, liaise with stakeholders on extensions, and oversee signage and protection area activities.

Ideal candidates hold an engineering degree, multiple years in railway environments, and strong project management skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil / Structural / Architectural / Building Services / Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline
• 4+ years’ relevant railway or construction experience, with at least 2 years in supervisory role
• Corporate Membership in Civil / Structural / Geotechnical Engineering and HK driving licences class 1 and 2 preferred
• Arborist certification from ISA is an advantage for Tree/ Landscape team
• Solid experience in project management and contract administration
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, proactive and able to work independently
• Previous railway civil engineering project and contractor liaison experience would be an advantage

Responsibilities

• Direct, plan and supervise civil/structural/architectural/tree & landscape maintenance works and related projects, including repairs and emergency support.
• Lead a team of technical staff to handle works requests for operating railway and interfaces with new railway extensions from various stakeholders
• Supervise and coordinate signage provision works for train services and new railway extensions
• Oversee resource administration and contract management to ensure safety, efficiency and budget compliance
• Lead a team of technical staff to conduct regular inspections at construction sites within railway protection areas
• Review submissions, investigations and monitoring results to assess railway structures/installations and arrange rectification works as necessary

• Direct, plan and supervise civil / structural / architectural / tree & landscape maintenance works / capital, revenue and maintenance projects / emergency support and recovery which include tunnel and plinth repair works, concrete and structural repair works, slopes, bridges and viaducts, tree, trackside advertising panels, wetland and landscape maintenance works, etc.


• Lead a team of technical staff to handle works requests for operating railway and interfaces with new railway extensions from various stakeholders


• Supervise and coordinate signage provision works in response to operational needs of train services and opening of new railway extensions


• Oversee resource administration and / or contract management to ensure compliance with specified standards on safety, efficiency and budget requirements


• For Railway Protection Team


• Lead a team of technical staff to conduct regular inspection at construction sites within the railway protection areas


• Review construction submissions, conduct investigation, prepare reports and review monitoring results regularly to assess the condition of railway structures / installations as well as arrange rectification works when necessary

For Civil Team

Requirements

• Degree in Civil / Structural / Architectural / Building Services / Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline


• A minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in railway or construction works, of which 2 years should be at supervisory level


• Possession of Corporate Membership in Civil / Structural / Geotechnical Engineering and a valid Hong Kong driving licence class 1 and 2 are preferred


• Possession of an arborist certification from the International Society of Arboriculture is an advantage for the Tree and Landscape team


• Solid experience in project management and contract administration


• Good communication and interpersonal skills with proactiveness and the ability to work independently


• Previous experience in railway civil engineering project and construction contractor liaison would be an advantage

Remarks

• Candidates with lower qualification but extensive experience will also be considered


• Required to perform shift duties and work under adverse weather and emergency situations
