Job summary

CLP is recruiting for a position at Castle Peak Power Station in Tuen Mun. The appointee will report to the Senior Engineer of Maintenance and will lead safe, compliant maintenance and project work within the plant.

The role requires a university degree in electrical/electronic/mechanical engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience, strong bilingual Chinese/English communication, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset. Less experience may be considered as Assistant Engineer.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in electrical/electronic/mechanical engineering with relevant experience.
• Familiar with CLP Power safety rules, codes and regulations.
• Knowledge of generation plant electrical systems and process control is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance and project work are safe and meet standards.
• Lead activities to ensure on-time completion within budget and specs.
• Diagnose faults, troubleshoot complex problems, provide technical advice.
• Maintain OT system hardware and software, including cybersecurity.
• Develop maintenance strategies and lifecycle plans for plant assets.
• Manage contractors/suppliers to meet schedule and quality.
• Assist with startup support and emergency duty as required.

Job description

Contract Period: Permanent / 2-Year Contract

Work Location: Tuen Mun

Applications are invited for the above position in the Castle Peak Power Station. Reporting to the Senior Engineer of the Maintenance Branch / Electrical & Control Section, the appointee will be responsible for the following duties:-

• Ensure maintenance & project work activities are carried out in a safe manner and meet the required engineering standard and codes of practice.
• Lead assigned activities in specific timeslot to ensure they are conducted according to schedule, budget, design and relevant codes of practice.
• Analyze and diagnose equipment fault and defects. Troubleshoot complex problems and provide technical advices.
• Maintain both hardware and software (including cybersecurity maintenance) of the Operational Technology (OT) system in plant area.
• Make recommendation and change to maintenance practices to improve work efficiency, safety standards, cost effectiveness, and performance improvement for power plant systems.
• Review engineering documentation, compile and develop maintenance procedures and draft technical and commercial contract specification.
• Utilize computer-based maintenance systems and develop cost effective maintenance strategies.
• Manage contractors and suppliers’ work performance in accordance with the agreed schedule, budget, design and relevant codes of practice.
• Assist supervisors to develop and implement life cycle maintenance plan for the plant assets.
• Support station operation through participation in Maintenance-Operator and startup support.
• Carry out ad-hoc operational activities under assignment.
• Perform duty under adverse weather conditions as and when required.
• Perform emergency call out duty outside normal working hours as and when required.

Requirements

• A recognized university degree in electrical / electronic / mechanical or equivalent in engineering plus 3 years relevant working experience
• Familiarity with CLP Power Safety Rules, engineering standards, codes of practice, and the relevant statutory regulations.
• Knowledge of Generation Plant in electrical systems, process control systems and water treatment systems is an advantage.
• Familiarity with New Engineering Contract model, target cost and KPI setup, compensation event mechanism and the relevant regulations.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written Chinese and English.
• A good team player, self-initiative with strong analytical skills.
• Familiar with CLP Power operations safety policies & procedures, SHE policies, standards and requirements
• Strong sense of responsibility with good interpersonal skill
• Less experience will be considered as Assistant Engineer
