Job summary

CLP Group invites applications for a role at Black Point Power Stations (BPPS) in Hong Kong. The appointee, reporting to the Senior Engineer, will compile performance stats, develop dashboards, and issue regular reports to stakeholders.

They will implement proactive monitoring using PI, EtaPro, AHMS, or similar tools to support reliability-centered maintenance, enhance plant reliability, and productivity. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Familiarity with CLP Power Safety Rules and standards.
• Good analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
• English and Chinese proficiency; Putonghua a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

Applications are invited for the above vacancy in Black Point Power Stations (BPPS).Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the appointee will be responsible for the following duties:

Compile station performance statistics, creation of management reports/dashboards and issue regular reports to relevant parties.

Implement proactive monitoring programs for critical plant equipment using PI, EtaPro, AHMS system, or other analytic applications to support reliability centered maintenance, and enhance station reliability and productivity.

Provide technical operation and maintenance recommendations to optimize generation efficiency, reliability, station productivity, and environmental performance.

Conduct investigations and (root cause) analysis on plant defects or underperformance; based on investigation results, formulate and follow-through rectification plans with O&M teams.

Formulate plans for station manpower and resources.

Prepare maintenance work plans and coordinate the outage activities.

Facilitate and coordinate the initiation and implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) or innovative ideas to improve effectiveness of O&M activities and business processes in power stations.

Requirements:

A recognized university degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline, plus at least 3 years of relevant work experience.

Familiarity with CLP Power Safety Rules, Engineering Standards, Codes of Practice, and relevant Statutory Regulations.

Good analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.

A strong sense of responsibility and able to work under pressure and meet tight schedule.

Knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and programming (e.g., VBA) is an advantage.

Knowledge of the design and development of AI applications is an advantage.

Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage.
