  • Extensive experience leading employee engagement initiatives across regions or business units.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution skills.
  • Ability to leverage employee feedback and analytics to drive improvements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, including engagement with senior leaders.
  • Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Job description

The Director – Employee Engagement & Internal Communications will shape and drive the employee experience across the full employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on engagement, belonging, and culture. This role leads the strategy and execution of employee engagement, employer branding, internal communications, and related programs to strengthen a caring culture and enhance retention, performance, and employee advocacy.

As part of a multinational company with a strong Asia Pacific presence, the role will collaborate with regional stakeholders to deliver consistent and scalable people practices, while tailoring engagement initiatives to local workforce needs within a matrix organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Internal Communications
  • Develop and lead internal communications strategies that support engagement, culture, and key HR priorities.
  • Communicate HR initiatives, leadership messages, and engagement program results clearly and effectively.
  • Create channels for employee feedback and ensure insights are addressed and shared back with employees.
Employee Engagement Strategy
  • Lead the employee engagement strategy and translate employee insights, such as surveys and focus groups, into measurable actions.
  • Promote belonging, reinforce a caring culture, and build trust through values-led leadership and people practices.
  • Create engagement roadmaps aligned with business strategy and workforce priorities.
Employer Branding
  • Partner with the communications team to strengthen employer brand positioning as a "great place to work," aligned with company values and talent priorities.
  • Develop content and messaging that resonate with current and prospective employees, while reinforcing the employee value proposition.
  • Support initiatives that enhance employee advocacy and strengthen the organization’s external reputation.
Employee Engagement Programs & Initiatives
  • Design and deliver employee engagement programs, including recognition initiatives, culture events, wellbeing activities, and internal campaigns.
  • Develop scalable engagement frameworks that can be applied across regions and business units.
  • Drive program adoption and maintain consistent execution standards.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Lead a small team and cross-functional stakeholders in aligning clear, measurable engagement objectives.
  • Influence senior leaders and business stakeholders to actively support employee experience and engagement priorities.
  • Establish KPIs and reporting rhythms to track engagement trends, participation, program impact, and retention indicators.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or above.
  • At least 16 years of relevant experience in a global matrix organization.
  • Strong experience in internal communications, employer branding, and engagement program design.
  • Proven success in improving employee engagement with measurable results.
  • Extensive experience leading employee engagement initiatives across regions or business units.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution skills and the ability to turn engagement insights into actionable programs.
  • Able to leverage employee feedback and analytics to drive improvements and measure impact.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including engagement with senior leaders.
  • High empathy, credibility, and commitment to fostering a caring and inclusive culture.
  • Collaborative and proactive in partnering across HR, leadership, and corporate functions.
  • Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
