Job summary

The Tung Wah Group of Hospitals in Sheung Wan is seeking an Educational Psychologist to provide psycho-educational assessment and intervention for students with learning, emotional, and behavioural needs. You will support school personnel and parents with evidence-based intervention strategies and help adapt programmes to diverse student profiles.

The ideal candidate holds a Psychology degree plus a Master’s in Educational Psychology (Professional Practice) and is fluent in Chinese and English.

Qualifications

• First degree in Psychology from a local university or equivalent.
• Master's Degree in Educational Psychology (Professional Practice) from a local university or equivalent.
• Full membership of the Division of Educational Psychology of the Hong Kong Psychological Society or equivalent international status.
• Proficient in Chinese and English.

Responsibilities

• Provide psycho-educational assessment and intervention for students with learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
• Provide consultation and support to school personnel and parents on intervention strategies.
• Deliver appropriate programmes to accommodate students' diverse educational needs.
• Support and develop schools to cater for student diversity and manage crises and critical incidents.
• Conduct training and sharing activities; participate in research and development work.

Roles & responsibilities

Provide psycho-educational assessment and intervention for students with learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties; provide consultation and support to school personnel and parents on intervention strategies and deliver appropriate programmes to accommodate students' diverse educational needs; support and develop schools to cater for student diversity; support schools in managing crises and critical incidents; conduct training and sharing activities; participate in research and development work; and perform other relevant duties as required.

The ideal candidate should have/be

• a first degree in Psychology from a local university or equivalent
• a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology (Professional Practice) from a local university or equivalent
• full membership of the Division of Educational Psychology of the Hong Kong Psychological Society or an equivalent status in an internationally recognized professional organization of Educational Psychology
• proficient in Chinese and English

Compensation & employment terms

The successful candidate will be appointed on contract terms with a salary currently at $52,575 per month (Tung Wah Master Pay Scale Point 23). Entry salary depends on years of recognized experience. The salary is subject to downward/upward adjustment or may be frozen as determined by Tung Wah and/or as appropriate with reference to the civil service pay review.
