Job summary

The French International School - Hong Kong is seeking Educational Assistants to join the Y7 team at Jardine’s Lookout campus, reporting to the CPE/Dean and the Head of Year. You will be part of the pastoral supervision and monitoring of our International stream students, helping them settle in and thrive in a busy, multicultural environment.

About the French International School

Established in 1963, the French International School (FIS) is the oldest international school in Hong Kong and was the first school in Hong Kong to offer the IB (in 1988). It is a dynamic educational institution, which welcomes over 3,000 students from around the world. It offers both French and international curricula and is one of the largest French schools in Asia.

FIS currently operates four campuses, all of which accommodates students from both streams. Regarding the three primary schools, one is surrounded by greenery in Jardine’s Lookout and another campus is by the sea in Tseung Kwan O and the third is a beautiful campus in Chai Wan

FIS is a private, not-for-profit organization. In the last five decades, it has grown from a small school with 35 students to one of the most renowned international schools in the region. FIS operates two streams, French and International. The French Stream follows the French national curriculum and has approximately 1700 students. The International Stream follows an English and Mathematics curriculum based on the English national curriculum and also the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) and International Primary Curriculum (IPC) leading to the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) in years 7 and 8, then to IGCSE and finally the International Baccalaureate in Years 12 and 13. As part of a team ofEducational Assistants reporting to the CPE/Dean, the Head of Y7 and Campus Coordinator, you will bepart of the team of pastoral supervisors and monitors of our Y7 students in our International stream at ourJardine’s Lookout Campus.

General duties andactivities:

• ● Welcoming students on arrival – Seeingstudents off at the end of the day
• ● Supervising students during breaks, betweenlessons, lunch break (including play areas and the school canteen) and studyperiods
• ● Monitoring lateness and absences
• ● Providing educational support to students,helping them to settle in, liaising with families
• ● Educationalactivities offering in-class support
• ● Ensuring students adhere to the schoolrules
• ● Administrative tasks that support The Headof Year
• ● Specialised roles and activities (specifictasks may be assigned depending on the profile and skills of the individual)
• ● Projectmonitoring - Helping students in project-based learning classes
