Job summary

Nomura’s Global Markets team in Hong Kong seeks a Senior AEJ Strategist to lead equity research across Asia Pacific, coordinating with Japan equity strategy and sales teams to form a clear view of Asia ex-Japan markets.

You will produce research outputs, mentor junior analysts, and partner with Sales Trading to translate insights into client ideas, with a strong emphasis on leadership, communication and market insight.

Qualifications

• Extensive research background in Asia with institutional recognition.
• 10+ years in equity strategy or research roles with deep equity market knowledge.
• Strong leadership, management skills and business acumen.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Proven experience coordinating with research, sales, trading and clients.
• Fluent English in spoken and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead equity research coverage for Asia Pacific while coordinating with Japan equity strategy.
• Coordinate Nomura research across APAC regions and form views on Asia ex-Japan equity markets.
• Collaborate with Sales and Sales Trading on product offerings and client communications.

Department Overview

Responsibilities

• Senior AEJ Strategist in AEJ focusing on successfully building and maintaining Nomura’s thematic and fundamental equity research coverage across Asia Pacific collaborating with Japan equity strategy team.
• Responsible for research reports, coordinating all Nomura research across APAC region and formulating our view on the Asia equity markets.
• Responsible for aligning and coordinating Nomura's APAC country research and aligning strategy, sector research and views with overall Asia ex-Japan regional equity markets.
• Partner effectively with equity colleagues in Sales and Sales Trading on Nomura’s product offerings to clients.

Requirements

• Extensive and successful research background in the Asia region including proven Institutional Investor and other investor poll recognition.
• 10+ years of experience in successful equity strategist or research roles with a highly in-depth knowledge of the equity market with equity research expertise.
• Strong leadership, management skills, and sound commercial business acumen
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proven experience in communicating with team, broader research, sales, trading, and clients.
• Highly energetic with superior understanding of the firm’s clients’ needs
• Excellent spoken and written English
