Job summary

Nomura's Investment Banking team in Hong Kong is seeking a Vice President to lead origination and execution of cross-border M&A and related advisory work across China. This role requires a proven track record in investment banking and strong Mandarin/English communication.

The VP will mentor junior bankers, collaborate with regional teams, and drive deal execution across multiple workstreams within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of Investment Banking and Corporate Finance experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in China-related deal origination and execution.
• Experience in building relationships with Chinese Corporate & Institutions.
• Proven ability to lead deal teams and manage multiple workstreams.
• Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluent in Mandarin and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the origination and execution of investment banking transactions, with primary focus on M&A advisory mandates across China, including inbound and outbound cross-border deal flow.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities, including creating materials to support pitching and assisting in client relationship development.
• Liaise with senior bankers and sector/product teams across Hong Kong, Singapore and other offices on deal execution and business developments.
• Review and quality-control work product prepared by Associates and Analysts, providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.
