Job summary

Balyasny Asset Management (BAM) is seeking an experienced ECM Analyst to join our Asia team in Hong Kong. The role focuses on fundamental analysis, internal communication, and coordinating meetings with issuers under the Head of ECM Asia.

You will build financial models, assess deal opportunities, and work closely with investment teams to share insights. Mandarin language skills are preferred, and you will manage multiple transactions across IPOs, follow-ons, and block trades.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience (experience in Equity Capital Markets preferred).
• Strong fundamental analysis, organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in managing information flow.
• Interest in public equities and capital markets.
• Fluency in Mandarin is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fundamental Analysis: Analyse company financials, build models, conduct valuation analysis, and review offering documents to evaluate ECM investment opportunities.
• Internal Communication and Distribution: Act as the internal point of contact for all ECM transactions, ensure timely and accurate distribution of deal information, offering documents, and analysis to relevant investment teams.
• Management Meetings: Arrange and host management meetings with issuers.
• Risk Analysis: Assist in evaluating, pricing and managing risk.
• Deal Coordination: Track and coordinate the firm’s participation in IPOs, follow-ons and block trades.Maintain a detailed database on deal flow, demand and allocations.
• Market Monitoring: Monitor ECM activity, lock-up schedules and market trends.
• Relationship Management: Communicate regularly with investment banks to obtain relevant deal information and build long term and trusted partnerships.
