Job summary

Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong is seeking a Duty Engineer to oversee engineering staff, ensure timely handling of work requests, and maintain a safe, well-organized hotel environment at Discovery Bay. The role requires a high diploma in electrical/electronic/mechanical engineering, 5 years of relevant experience with at least 1 year in a Duty Engineer position, and appropriate safety certifications.

Proficiency in English and Chinese is essential.

Qualifications

• High Diploma in Electrical/ Electronic/ Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant experience with at least 1 year as Duty Engineer.
• Holder of Registered Electrical Worker certificate (Grade B or above).
• Knowledge of safe working in confined spaces and related certifications is an advantage.
• Strong leadership and good command of English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Engineering staff during shifts and ensure compliance with guidelines.
• Ensure Work Requests are followed up promptly.
• Identify hazards and report issues with proposed solutions.
• Provide training and coaching to Engineering staff as required.
• Maintain neat, tidy and healthy work areas.

Responsibilities

• To supervise Engineering staff performing their shift duty and ensure it is in compliance with established guidelines, procedures and schedule
• Ensure every Work Request received to be followed up in a timely manner
• Ensure any discovered problem and staff feedbacks are reported to superiors, and also propose solution as appropriate
• To identify hazards and potential safety concerns and rectify problems promptly
• To provide training guidance or coaching to Engineering staffs as required
• Maintain work areas are under a neat, tidy, clean and healthy environment

Requirements

• High diploma in Electrical/ Electronic/ Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional certificate
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience with at least 1 year at Duty Engineer position
• Holder of Certificate for Registered Electrical Worker (Grade B or above)
• Holder of Competence in Safe Working in Confined Space and Safe Use of Mobile Aluminum Tower Certificate will be an advantage
• Solid experience in overall hotel maintenance work operations and knowledge of emergency work procedures
• Good team player with positive attitude, strong organizational and leadership skills
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese
