Job summary

Wallbrook, part of Anthesis Group, is seeking experienced researchers to join our global Business Intelligence team in Hong Kong. The role demands strong qualitative analysis, fast-paced output, and business proficiency in Mandarin with English fluency.

Based in Hong Kong, you will contribute to high-quality commercial research and client-ready reports. Responsibilities include managing investigations, drafting reports, briefing senior management, and developing a client-ready pipeline.

Qualifications

• Fluent reading and writing English in a commercial context; Mandarin proficiency required.
• 1–4 years’ post-graduate experience in corporate intelligence or related field.
• Experience with open source research tools (LexisNexis, Factiva) and regional/language databases.
• Ability to plan/manage multifaceted research projects from proposal to client delivery.
• Working knowledge of financial, commercial and legal concepts.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited university.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Interest in international affairs and business with ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Summary of Role Wallbrook (part of Anthesis Group) is seeking experienced researchers to join our top-ranked global Business Intelligence team. Successful candidates will have proven experience working in a fast-paced research environment, excellent qualitative analytical skills, and a track record of producing high quality research for use in a commercial setting. Candidates should have a strong knowledge of international and regional business and political environments – and have business proficiency in Mandarin – as well as an innate sense of curiosity about international affairs, business and global markets more generally. We are looking for specialists to be based out of our offices in Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities The exact responsibilities will vary depending on the role offered. However, we broadly look for the below skills when considering applicants for all our positions:

• Manage complex open source and human intelligence-led investigative assignments (including pre-transactional integrity due diligence checks and other bespoke investigations);
• Write concise and cogent reports that weave in research findings with an in-depth contextualized analysis of key issues and other pertinent findings;
• Deliver written and verbal briefings to senior management and clients on research findings;
• Prepare proposals for new business;
• Support the development of our human source network in regions of expertise; and
• Once comfortable with our house style and research methodologies, assist in training new team members and proofreading reports.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Key Requirements Essential

• Fluency reading and writing English in a commercial context and business proficiency in Mandarin; Other languages are a bonus
• 1-4 years’ full-time post-graduate work experience in the corporate intelligence industry and/or another relevant investigative background;
• Experience using open source research tools such as LexisNexis and Factiva, as well as regional and language-specific databases and media sources;
• Ability to plan and manage multifaceted research projects from the proposal stage to delivering our work to the client;
• A working knowledge of financial, commercial and legal concepts;
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited university;
• Professional proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite. Candidates should also have demonstrable skills in the following areas:
