Job summary

Chico Hill Limited on Hong Kong Island is seeking a dedicated Dishwasher / Kitchen Helper / Cleaner to join our team full-time. You will maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, ensure equipment and utensils are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised, and support daily operations to uphold hygiene standards.

The role requires physical fitness, the ability to stand for long periods, and readiness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a dishwasher/kitchen helper or in a similar cleaning role within hospitality or food service environments.
• Strong understanding of food hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Reliable, punctual and willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff.
• Ability to follow instructions carefully and take initiative when appropriate.
• Fluency in English and/or Cantonese is advantageous.
• Relevant qualifications or certifications in food safety or kitchen hygiene are desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Wash, dry and store dishes, glassware, cutlery and cooking utensils in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
• Operate dishwashing machines efficiently and maintain them in good working order.
• Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, work areas, and equipment regularly throughout the day.
• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping and portioning ingredients.
• Maintain organisation and cleanliness of storage areas, walk-in coolers and food preparation zones.
• Remove and dispose of waste and recycling materials appropriately.
• Support the kitchen team by restocking supplies and ensuring adequate inventory of clean equipment.
• Adhere to all food hygiene, safety and sanitation regulations at all times.
• Respond promptly to requests from kitchen and dining staff to maintain operational flow
