Job summary

Sloaneshorey in Hong Kong seeks a senior professional to lead and develop the firm's presence in Hong Kong and across Asia, delivering strategic advisory, client development and cross-border project leadership.

Job description

Our client is an international strategic advisory firm working with leading investors and corporates on complex commercial decisions. The firm provides senior decision-makers with insight, advice and informed perspectives to help them navigate important business, investment and market-related issues.

We are looking for a senior professional to help lead and develop the firm's presence in Hong Kong and the wider Asia region.

The firm is particularly interested in individuals with M&A, private capital and investment backgrounds who bring deep industry expertise, established senior relationships and a strong understanding of the commercial forces shaping sectors, especially Technology, Energy, Extractives, and Healthcare.

This is a highly client-facing position combining strategic advisory work, relationship management, business development and project leadership. The successful individual will work closely with colleagues internationally, advising clients on complex commercial questions across Asia.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and manage relationships with CEOs, boards, investors and other senior decision-makers across Hong Kong and the wider region.
• Originate new business through established industry relationships, referrals and proactive client development.
• Act as a senior adviser to clients on complex commercial, investment, regulatory, reputational and strategic matters.
• Bring deep sector knowledge and informed perspectives to client discussions and advisory assignments.
• Identify developments, opportunities and challenges within relevant industries that may have strategic implications for clients.
• Lead advisory assignments, working with research and specialist colleagues to translate market intelligence and analysis into commercially relevant advice.
• Work closely with international colleagues on cross-border assignments and client relationships.
• Identify opportunities to expand the firm's relationships and activities across Asia.

PROFILE

We are interested in senior individuals who have developed significant expertise, credibility and relationships. Potential backgrounds could therefore include industry, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, management consulting, professional services, strategic or corporate advisory, government/regulatory affairs, or senior commercial and corporate positions.

Candidates should demonstrate:

• Deep expertise in one or more priority sectors (tech, oil and gas, mining, healthcare)
• Strong understanding of its commercial landscape in Asia.
• An established network of senior relationships across relevant corporates, investors, advisers and other industry participants.
• Experience engaging with and advising CEOs, boards, senior investors or equivalent decision-makers.
• Strong commercial judgement and the ability to understand complex, sensitive or strategically important business issues.
• The ability to develop trusted client relationships and identify opportunities where the firm's advisory capabilities can add value.
• Strong business development capability, ideally with evidence of originating work or developing significant commercial relationships.
• The credibility and presence to represent an international advisory firm at senior levels.
• An entrepreneurial approach and an interest in helping develop and shape a growing business in Asia.

The position would particularly suit an established industry or advisory professional who has built substantial sector knowledge and senior relationships and is interested in applying that experience across a broader range of strategic client issues
