Job summary

Shangri-La Group seeks a Director of Engineering for The Aberdeen Marina Club in Hong Kong. The role leads all engineering and maintenance operations, oversees building services systems, and drives preventive maintenance and energy management across the Club’s facilities.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in engineering management within hospitality or large facilities, strong leadership, budgeting, and stakeholder skills, and is fluent in English and Chinese.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Services, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in engineering management.
• Experience in renovation, upgrading, and capital projects.
• Strong leadership, project management, budgeting, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all engineering and maintenance operations across the Club.
• Oversee building services systems, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, fire services, and recreational facilities.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance and energy management programs.
• Plan and execute renovation and capital improvement projects, including function rooms, restaurants, sports & recreation facilities, swimming pools, fitness areas, and member facilities.
• Manage project budgets, contractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, safety, environmental, and licensing requirements.
• Provide strategic recommendations on facility upgrades, sustainability initiatives, and asset enhancement.

We are looking for a Director of Engineering based at The Aberdeen Marina Club!
As a Director of Engineering, we rely on you to:

• Lead and manage all engineering and maintenance operations across the Club.

We Are Looking For Someone Who Has

• Degree in Building Services, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in engineering management, preferably in private clubs, hospitality, resorts, or large-scale facilities.
• Proven experience in renovation, upgrading, and capital projects.
• Strong leadership, project management, budgeting, and stakeholder management skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
