Our client is a Hong Kong-listed international organisation undergoing continued business and technology transformation. As part of its global technology strategy, the organisation is looking to appoint a senior Director, IT to lead its technology function and drive the next phase of enterprise-wide transformation.
This is a strategic leadership position combining IT strategy, business transformation and operational leadership. The successful candidate will work closely with senior executives and business leaders across multiple regions to align technology investment with business objectives, strengthen technology capabilities and build a scalable, secure and resilient IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a multi-year global IT strategy aligned with business growth and organisational priorities.
- Act as a strategic technology partner to senior management and business stakeholders.
- Define technology priorities, investment plans and transformation roadmaps.
- Lead enterprise-wide technology transformation initiatives and ensure measurable business outcomes.
- Establish effective IT governance, operating models, policies and standards.
Enterprise Applications & Business Systems
- Provide strategic leadership across enterprise applications, ERP and business-critical platforms.
- Drive the transformation, integration and optimisation of systems supporting areas such as Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, HR and other corporate functions.
- Lead major system implementation, enhancement, integration and replacement programmes.
- Promote process standardisation, automation, data quality and improved business intelligence capabilities.
- Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including AI and automation, where appropriate.
Infrastructure, Cloud & IT Operations
- Oversee global infrastructure, cloud, networks, workplace technology and IT service delivery.
- Establish effective IT service management standards, SLAs and performance metrics.
- Ensure high levels of system availability, resilience and user experience.
- Lead business continuity, disaster recovery and technology lifecycle planning.
- Optimise technology infrastructure and manage technical debt, capacity and obsolescence.
- Lead the organisation's cybersecurity and technology risk agenda.
- Establish appropriate security strategies, controls and governance across infrastructure, applications and third-party environments.
- Oversee areas including identity and access management, vulnerability management, incident response and technology risk.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure technology platforms meet relevant regulatory, privacy and compliance requirements.
- Support internal and external audits, assessments and regulatory reviews.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Build and lead a high-performing global IT organisation.
- Develop talent, succession planning and future technology capabilities.
- Manage global technology budgets, resources and investment priorities.
- Lead strategic technology vendors, partners and managed service providers.
- Establish strong governance across major programmes, including scope, budget, delivery, risk and benefits realisation.
- Drive organisational change and stakeholder adoption across different regions and functions.
Ideal Background
The successful candidate is likely to bring:
- 15+ years of progressive IT experience, with significant experience in senior IT leadership positions.
- Proven leadership of global, regional or multi-country IT functions.
- Strong track record in enterprise-wide digital transformation and technology strategy.
- Extensive experience across ERP / enterprise applications, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity and IT service delivery.
- Experience managing significant IT teams, budgets, vendors and complex transformation programmes.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, data, analytics, integration and emerging technologies.
- Experience within a regulated, manufacturing, life sciences, healthcare or similarly complex environment would be highly advantageous.
- Experience working with validated or compliance-sensitive technology environments is preferred.Strong understanding of IT governance and frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, NIST or ISO 27001.
- Experience managing cross-border teams and stakeholders across different cultures and time zones.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Language Requirements
- Cantonese and Mandarin proficiency are strongly preferred.
