Rosewood Hotel Group is seeking a Director, Data Platform, Global to shape strategy, architecture, and operations for our enterprise data and analytics platform. You will lead a global team and partner with Architecture, Applications, and business stakeholders to enable AI-ready data foundations across hotels and corporate offices.

THE TEAM

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, you will lead the global data platform function within Information Technology, with responsibility for the end-to-end lifecycle of our enterprise data and analytics platform. You will provide leadership to the global data platform team, including the Data Engineer, Global, while working closely with Enterprise Architecture, Applications, Technology Experience, Talent & Culture, and stakeholders across our corporate offices and hotels.

YOUR ROLE

As Director, Data Platform, Global, you will shape the strategy, architecture, engineering, operations, governance, and continuous improvement of our enterprise data and analytics platform. You will translate business, digital, and AI ambitions into a reliable, secure, scalable, and AI-ready data foundation that supports corporate offices, existing hotels, and new property openings.

Providing executive-level guidance on data platform investments, you will ensure our data services meet defined service levels, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Through strong leadership and partnership across the organisation, you will help Rosewood Hotel Group operate as a data-driven organisation and safely scale enterprise AI and GenAI use cases.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE THE PLACE

• Define and maintain the global enterprise data platform strategy, aligning it with business priorities, corporate IT roadmaps, and AI and digital transformation initiatives.
• Establish and govern enterprise data architecture and design patterns across cloud data warehouses, lakehouses, master data management, data integration, event streaming, analytics, and consumption tools.
• Own the global operational performance of the data platform, including availability, reliability, data freshness, quality, observability, incident response, service levels, and continuous improvement.
• Build and operate governed, semantically documented, AI-ready data foundations that support analytics, retrieval-augmented generation, feature serving, automation, and enterprise AI and GenAI solutions.
• Embed data governance and privacy engineering into the data lifecycle, covering policy enforcement, access controls, classification, cataloguing, lineage, data quality, sensitive-data handling, retention, and auditability.
• Lead platform modernisation and cost optimisation across AWS, GCP, and Azure, applying infrastructure-as-code, modern transformation and orchestration frameworks, and FinOps discipline.
• Manage strategic vendor relationships, multi-year budgets, investment planning, business cases, contracts, service performance, and technology consolidation across the data platform environment.
• Develop a high-performing global data platform team and build strong relationships with senior business leaders, property management, corporate stakeholders, technology partners, and Talent & Culture.

COULD THIS BE YOU?

• You bring extensive progressive experience in data architecture, platform engineering, or solution design within large multinational organisations, including substantial global or multi-site responsibility.
• You are an experienced people leader with a strong record of managing engineers and specialists in complex, mission-critical environments and developing future technical leaders.
• You have deep expertise in cloud data platforms and modern lakehouse or warehouse architectures across AWS, GCP, and Azure, together with hands-on capability in SQL and Python.
• You understand modern data integration, transformation, modelling, master data management, data observability, dbt, event streaming, data cataloguing, lineage, and policy enforcement.
• You have successfully built and operated governed, AI-ready data foundations that support analytics, automation, and enterprise AI and GenAI use cases.
• You bring practical knowledge of data privacy and regulatory compliance, including GDPR, PDPA, China PIPL, anonymisation, masking, tokenisation, pseudonymisation, and secure test-data practices.
• You are a strategic thinker and influential communicator who can translate complex business needs into scalable platform capabilities while leading cross‑functional delivery, vendor relationships, and senior stakeholder engagement.
• You hold a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field, communicate effectively in spoken and written English, and bring an international mindset with the flexibility to support global changes, cutovers, and incident response when needed. An advanced degree, relevant cloud, privacy, governance, service management, or project management certification, and experience in luxury hospitality or multi‑brand environments would be advantageous.
