Responsibilities

  • Lead a Critical Facilities Engineering team of ~30 staff, ensuring resource planning and quality service delivery.
  • Provide strategic and technical leadership across MEP, building services and critical engineering operations.
  • Oversee delivery of critical facilities projects ensuring safety, efficiency and client compliance.
  • Act as a senior client contact and build relationships with client stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance on complex mechanical, electrical and building services matters.
  • Manage risks and implement mitigation for critical environments.
  • Monitor project performance, resources, quality and deliverables.
  • Coordinate consultants, contractors and internal teams for delivery.
  • Support reviews and improvements of standards, processes and governance.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance and governance across the account.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders for integrated service delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement for resilience and efficiency.
  • Coach and develop team members and foster engineering culture.
  • Prepare senior-level reports and recommendations for management and client stakeholders.

Job description

Director – Critical Facilities Engineering

We are seeking an experienced Director – Critical Facilities Engineering to lead a large engineering team supporting a major financial institution account in Hong Kong.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall leadership and delivery of critical facilities engineering services, managing a team of approximately 30 professionals. The role requires a strong MEP / Building Services Engineering background, combined with proven experience managing complex, mission-critical environments. Candidates from banking, financial institutions, data centres or other critical facilities environments are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a Critical Facilities Engineering team of approximately 30 staff, ensuring effective resource planning, team development and high-quality service delivery.
  • Provide strategic and technical leadership across MEP, building services and critical engineering operations.
  • Oversee the delivery of critical facilities projects and engineering services, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with client requirements.
  • Act as a key senior point of contact for the client, building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and understanding their operational and business requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction on complex mechanical, electrical and building services engineering matters.
  • Manage project and operational risks associated with critical environments, ensuring appropriate mitigation and contingency measures are in place.
  • Monitor project performance, programme, resources, quality and key deliverables across the account.
  • Lead consultants, contractors and internal project teams to ensure effective coordination and delivery.
  • Support the review and improvement of engineering standards, processes, governance and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements, health and safety standards, internal policies and client governance procedures.
  • Work closely with other senior leaders across the account to ensure integrated service delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement and identify opportunities to enhance operational resilience, efficiency and engineering performance.
  • Coach, mentor and develop team members, building a strong and collaborative engineering culture.
  • Prepare and deliver senior-level reports, presentations and recommendations to internal management and client stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in MEP / Building Services Engineering, with a strong track record in senior leadership positions.
  • Experience within banking, financial institutions, data centres, mission-critical facilities or other highly regulated environments is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience leading a sizeable multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Strong understanding of critical building infrastructure and MEP systems.
  • Excellent client and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior‑level stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, commercial awareness and problem‑solving capability.
  • Able to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, client‑facing environment where reliability and service continuity are critical.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English. Chinese language capability would be an advantage.
