Role Overview

We are seeking an exceptionally seasoned Deputy Head of Regional Credit to join our team in Singapore. Reporting directly to the Head of Regional Credit, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team of 6–7 credit professionals while taking active, hands-on responsibility for evaluating, structuring, and approving complex debt transactions across APAC (Greater China & ASEAN).

This is a senior execution and risk-structuring role requiring deep accounting expertise, downside protection mastery, and direct experience in collateralized, asset-backed, and cash-flow-based credit facilities for listed and mid-market private corporates.

Key Responsibilities

• Deal Structuring & Execution: Lead the risk evaluation and deal-structuring process for bespoke financing solutions, including senior secured, mezzanine, asset-backed, share-pledge, cash-flow, and privatization financing.

• Credit Analysis & Downside Protection: Perform rigorous accounting analysis, debt capacity modeling, collateral valuation, and security package design to safeguard recoveries and downside protection.

• Leadership & Team Mentorship: Co-lead and mentor a team of senior and junior credit analysts, driving high standards in underwriting, credit memo preparation, and deal execution.

• APAC Cross-Border Coverage: Manage credit risk exposure across key regional markets, primarily Greater China and ASEAN, ensuring cross-border security enforceability and regulatory compliance.

• Stressed Asset & Workout Management: Evaluate underperforming or stressed credit positions, implementing effective restructuring strategies and recovery mechanisms when necessary.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 15 years of hands-on credit risk, private debt, or structured finance experience within regional financial institutions, private credit funds, investment banks, or special situations desks.

• Technical Mastery: Superior understanding of accounting concepts, legal security structures, intercreditor dynamics, and recovery frameworks across APAC jurisdictions.

• Product Depth: Demonstrated track record in structuring senior secured, mezzanine, asset-backed/hybrid, and cash-flow debt for listed and unlisted entities.

• Exclusions: Profiles restricted purely to syndicated loan agency, passive portfolio monitoring, or retail/commercial relationship management will not be considered.

• Leadership: Proven capability in team management, mentoring junior structurers/analysts, and presenting directly to investment/credit committees.
