Job summary

Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong invites applications for a Senior Lecturer in Dentistry to support oral health education and clinical programs. You will supervise staff, assist in designing and validating quality assurance policies, and contribute to annual reports.

The role is based at IVE (Chai Wan) with potential after-hours duties. Ideal candidates hold a recognised dentistry degree with HK registration, a post-graduate qualification preferred, and at least 5 years

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising oral care workshops or seminars.

• Prepare interim and annual reports on programme performance.

Job description

(a) To assist in supervising the oral care workshops or seminars;

(b) To provide dental screening and emergency services for the promotion of dental hygiene and preventive dental service;

(c) To assist senior management in programme design and development, validation and the implementation of quality assurance policy;

(d) To design educational kits to promote oral health care;

(e) To supervise Dental Hygienists and Dental Surgery Assistants’ work; and

(f) To assist Senior Dental Officer in preparing interim report and annual report on the performance of the programme.

Requirements

(a) A recognised degree in Dentistry or relevant professional qualification in Dentistry, preferably with a post-graduate qualification;

(b) Qualification of registered Dentist under the Dentists Registration Ordinance (Cap. 156) in Hong Kong and valid practicing certificate issued by the Dental Council of Hong Kong;

(c) At least 5 years’ relevant experience;

(d) Good records of professional development and linkages with the industry;

(e) Good administrative, interpersonal, communication and team building skills; and

(f) Good presentation skills and a high level of proficiency in both English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.

(1) The post is at the rank of Senior Lecturer.

(2) The work location is in IVE (Chai Wan).

(3) Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.

(4) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and at different work locations as assigned.
