Job summary

Chong Hing Bank seeks an experienced Head of Data to lead the Data Section, delivering data-related system services aligned with the bank's goals and regulatory requirements.

You will oversee SDLC for data projects, manage data platform capacity, and mentor data teams. Strong communication with stakeholders to report status, risks, and issues is essential. Fluency in English and Chinese is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, Data Science, or equivalent.
• 10+ years IT experience with at least 5 years in leadership in banking/finance.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Extensive experience in large-scale data projects and enterprise data warehouses.
• Proficiency in SQL, ETL, databases, data modeling, and reporting tools.
• Experience in data governance and HKMA regulatory reporting is desirable.
• Vendor management experience from tendering to post-implementation support.
• Excellent English and Chinese communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Data Section to align data services with business and regulatory goals.
• Prioritize data projects and system changes per business objectives and regulatory needs.
• Oversee SDLC for data projects ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence.
• Communicate with product owners and management on status, issues, and risks.
• Provide timely technical support to ensure continuous data system operation.
• Enhance data platform capacity to support growth and peak loads.
• Oversee development and management of data teams and resources.
• Collaborate with vendors, manage tendering to post-implementation support.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the data team.
