Job description

We are seeking a Data Platform Lead to own the end-to-end design, strategy, and delivery of a modern enterprise data platform built on Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure. This role goes beyond hands‑on engineering, combining technical leadership, platform architecture, and team management. The Data Platform Lead will define platform standards, drive best practices, and ensure the platform enables scalable, secure, and high‑performing data and AI use cases across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Own the architecture, roadmap, and evolution of the enterprise data platform across Azure, Databricks, and Fabric.

Define and enforce standards, design principles, and best practices across data engineering, governance, and DevOps.

Lead the design of scalable medallion architectures using Delta Lake and Databricks.

Oversee implementation of distributed data processing pipelines (PySpark, Spark SQL).

Define and implement CI/CD frameworks using Azure DevOps, Terraform, and scripting tools.

Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, including data quality, lineage, access controls, and compliance.

Drive technical decision-making, design reviews, and code quality standards.

Partner with stakeholders across business, analytics, and IT to translate requirements into scalable platform solutions.

Required Experience

10+ years of experience in data engineering and platform delivery, with significant exposure to Azure-based data ecosystems.

Proven experience leading data platform teams or large-scale initiatives.

Strong experience defining and implementing data architecture patterns (medallion, data mesh, etc.).

Hands‑on experience with DevOps and IaC tools (Azure DevOps, Terraform, Git).

Demonstrated success in driving performance optimization and cost management in cloud data platforms.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
