Job summary

Google in Hong Kong is seeking a Data Center Technician to install, test and maintain our physical infrastructure. You will perform component-level repairs, troubleshoot hardware and network equipment, and support ongoing operations in a fast-paced, cutting-edge environment.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lb, willingness to work non-standard hours, and the ability to travel as needed. You will collaborate with teammates to resolve issues and ensure high availability of data center services

Qualifications

• Experience with component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting OS, server hardware, or networking protocols.
• Ability to lift/move 50lb (23kg) and perform physical tasks over extended periods.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Contribute and lead efforts in deployment, maintenance, and support of data center infrastructure.
• Lead complex troubleshooting and resolve critical or escalated issues.
• Help test and troubleshoot new server hardware components and designs.
• Configure and troubleshoot Linux OS-related issues on servers.
• Provide possible on-call support shifts.
