Job summary

The Legislative Council Secretariat seeks capable individuals to join as a Council Researcher in the Research and Information Division. You will conduct in-depth policy research for LegCo and its Members, monitor major developments, and provide essential research support for outbound visits and meetings.

You will also support senior staff with research in the Research Office and Library, requiring strong Chinese and English writing skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Recognised university degree in relevant disciplines.
• At least six years' relevant independent research experience.
• Excellent proficiency in Chinese and English, especially in writing.
• Good knowledge of current political, economic and social affairs.
• Good analytical, communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth policy research and analysis for LegCo, its committees and Members.
• Monitor developments on major political, economic and social issues; prepare and update research publications.
• Provide research and logistical support for Members’ outbound duty visits and meetings with visitors.
• Provide research support to senior staff in both the Research Office and the Library.
