Job summary

G MASS Consulting, partnered with a leading hedge fund, seeks a Compliance Business Analyst in Hong Kong. The role blends BAU Control Room duties with process, data and tech improvements to strengthen controls, data quality and automation.

The candidate should own issues front-to-back across teams and data flows, and be comfortable bridging Compliance and Technology while supporting MNPI and information-barrier controls.

Qualifications

• Strong experience within hedge funds or similarly regulated environments.
• Hands-on SQL and data analysis with focus on data quality and lineage.
• Ability to own issues front-to-back across teams and data flows.
• Comfort bridging Compliance and Technology; not a developer role.
• Experience with MNPI controls and information barriers is a plus.
• Track record balancing BAU with change, transformation or automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and administer restriction lists with timely updates.
• Monitor position limits across asset classes and investigate breaches.
• Support information-barrier and MNPI controls and governance.
• Assist sanctions screening and disclosures including large/short position reporting.
• Act as day-to-day contact for restrictions and limits queries.
• Build SQL-based reports and tools to support monitoring and data quality.
• Develop understanding of data lineage from origin to downstream reporting.
• Investigate data-quality issues at source and ensure data integrity.
• Document and refine Control Room procedures and workflows.
• Gather requirements with technology teams to improve data feeds and tooling.
• Take front-to-back ownership of process and data improvements.
• Explore automation and AI-enabled tooling with governance.
• Assist with periodic reviews, regulatory requests and audit queries.
• Enhance the Control Room framework and data architecture.
