Job summary

D.R.E.A.M. Support Service Centre for Ethnic Minorities, funded by the Home Affairs Department, is seeking a Registered Social Worker to provide casework, counselling and district outreaching.

You will supervise interns and volunteers while developing and evaluating services in a multi-cultural district. The role requires English proficiency, Chinese/EM language literacy is a plus, and the ability to work evenings or weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Registered Social Worker in Hong Kong with a recognized social work degree.
• Experience in planning and implementing group programmes.
• Ability to develop programme management plans and monitor staff.
• Strong networking and resource-generation abilities.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Chinese and/or EM language literacy preferred.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Able to work in a multicultural team.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and general IT.

Duties

• (d) Recruit, supervise and train the interns and volunteers.

• (f) Handle enquiries and complaints of the ethnic minorities' needs and concerns.

Requirements

• (a) Registered Social Worker in Hong Kong with a recognized Degree in Social Work from a Hong Kong university or equivalent.
• (b) Preferably to have at least one year of social work / fieldwork placement experience in planning and implementation of groups and programmes.
• (c) Ability to develop programme management plan, achieve performance results, monitor and evaluate staff and programmes.
• (d) Proven ability to network with other agencies and generate resources for the programmes.
• (e) Good command of oral and written English.
• (f) Able to read, write and effectively communicate in Chinese and/or any EM language is an advantage.
• (g) Demonstrate positive and self-motivated attitude, and ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• (h) Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• (i) Ability to work effectively in multi-cultural team and work environment.
• (j) Proficiency in computer skills and knowledge, e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
• (k) Required to work by roster arrangement which may include evening duties and weekends (Saturdays / Sundays).
