Job summary

The Vocational Training Council (VTC) Language Centre invites applicants for the position of Term Assistant Lecturer in English and Communication. The role covers teaching duties, supervision of student projects, and contributing to student and academic administration.

You will help develop curricula, organise language enhancement activities, and participate in centre projects and functions. Shortlisted candidates may face a written assessment; the closing date is 9 November 2026.

Qualifications

A recognised degree in English Language / related field, or a non-relevant degree plus a recognised English teaching qualification such as PGCE/ Dip in Education (English), TESOL/ CELTA or TESL certification.
A transcript with course details including hours of instruction and practicum should be provided for consideration.
Good communication, presentation and digital skills.
A good team player, able to work on own initiative and meet challenges.

Responsibilities

To perform teaching duties, including supervision of students' projects;
To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration;
To assist in developing programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials;
To organise language enhancement activities; and
To participate in projects and functions of the Language Centre.
