Job summary

Solomon HR Solution Limited, on behalf of a luxury jewellery brand, seeks a Jewelry Product Developer for a 6-month contract in Hong Kong. You will translate sketches into manufacturable pieces and oversee the full product development lifecycle including material sourcing, feasibility, prototyping, cost engineering, BOMs, and pricing input.

You will manage sampling timelines, coordinate with designers, suppliers, and manufacturers, develop comprehensive tech packs, ensure compliance with CIBJO

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Jewelry Design, Product Development, Fashion Merchandising, Materials Science, or related field.
• 5 years of product development experience within the jewelry sector (Pure Gold and 24-Gold a must).
• In-depth knowledge of precious materials (gold, platinum, diamonds, colored gemstones) and jewelry manufacturing processes (wax carving, casting, setting, polishing, plating).
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple SKUs and tight deadlines
• Proficiency in Product Lifecycle Management systems, Excel (for cost modeling), and familiarity with Rhino/MatrixGold/Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with designers and creative leadership to translate sketches into manufacturable, high-quality jewelry pieces.
• Lead the full product development lifecycle: material sourcing, feasibility assessment, prototyping, cost engineering, and pricing input.
• Manage sampling timelines and coordinate with internal teams and external partners (manufacturers, setters, gem suppliers).
• Develop and maintain comprehensive tech packs, including BOMs, CAD references, finish requirements, and quality benchmarks.
• Ensure compliance with international jewelry standards (CIBJO, hallmarking), ethical sourcing, and sustainability commitments.
• Contribute to seasonal line reviews and collection planning, balancing core staples, trend-driven pieces, and special editions.

Jewelry / Jewellery Product Developer (Contract 6 months)

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with designers and creative leadership to translate sketches into manufacturable, high-quality jewelry pieces.

Lead the full product development lifecycle: material sourcing (precious metals, gemstones), feasibility assessment, prototyping, cost engineering, and pricing input.

Manage sampling timelines and coordinate cross-functionally with internal teams (design, sourcing, production, quality assurance) and external partners (manufacturers, setters, gem suppliers).

Develop and maintain comprehensive tech packs, including detailed specifications, BOMs (Bill of Materials), CAD references, finish requirements, and quality benchmarks.

Ensure compliance with international jewelry standards (e.g., CIBJO, hallmarking regulations), ethical sourcing guidelines, and brand sustainability commitments.

Contribute to seasonal line reviews and collection planning, balancing core staples, trend-driven pieces, and special editions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Jewelry Design, Product Development, Fashion Merchandising, Materials Science, or a related field.

5 years of product development experience within the jewelry sector (Pure Gold and 24-Gold a must).

In-depth knowledge of precious materials (gold, platinum, diamonds, colored gemstones) and solid experience in jewelry manufacturing processes (wax carving, casting, setting, polishing, plating, etc.).

Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple SKUs and tight deadlines

Proficiency in Product Lifecycle Management systems, Excel (for cost modeling), and familiarity with design software (e.g., Rhino, MatrixGold, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.

Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages (French, Italian, Mandarin) are advantageous.

A refined aesthetic sensibility, deep respect for craftsmanship, and unwavering attention to detail.

Understanding of luxury brand values, consumer expectations, and retail dynamics.

Preferred Qualifications:

Gemological certification (e.g., GIA Graduate Gemologist, FGA).

Experience working with European (especially Italian or French) fine jewelry ateliers or suppliers.

Knowledge of responsible sourcing practices (e.g., recycled gold, Kimberley Process, Responsible Jewellery Council standards).

Basic CAD or hand-rendering skills.
