Job summary

Destination Greater Victoria in Victoria, BC seeks a Corporate Communications & Member Services Co-op to craft content for newsletters, media releases, LinkedIn, and our website. You will help plan and deliver member events, track performance, and gain experience with member data management.

This in-person, 4-month role offers mentorship from seasoned professionals, exposure to real projects, and a chance to grow within Victoria's vibrant tourism community.

Qualifications

• Working toward a degree or diploma in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, PR, Business Management, or related field.
• Strong writing, formatting, editing and proofreading skills.
• Understanding of newsletters and media relations.
• Ability to create or support simple AI agents or automation tools is an asset.
• Experience writing content for newsletters or similar publications is a strong asset.
• Experience with data entry and data management.
• Organized, able to multi-task and prioritize workload.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365: Word, Excel, Outlook, Planner, PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with Copilot to support drafting and research is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Craft content for newsletters, media releases, LinkedIn and our website.
• Assist in planning and delivering member events, from mixers to workshops.
• Track performance metrics and report on communications activities.
• Support member data management and maintain accurate records.
