Job summary

Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong is seeking a Commis I to join our Kitchen team. Based in Hong Kong, the Commis I supports the Sous Chef in daily operations and upholds high standards of food handling and presentation.

Ideal candidates have 2 years relevant experience, are self-motivated, responsible, and able to work under pressure. The role offers development and exposure to luxury dining environments within a globally renowned hotel group.

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong within Kitchen Division in Hong Kong, the Commis I is responsible for to assist the Sous Chef with the daily working requirements and the smooth running of the operation and displayed as mandated by the Chef de Cusine in order to acquire maximum customer satisfaction and profitability. Commis I reports to the Sous Chef/ Chef de Cusine.

As Commis I, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Assist the daily operation of the kitchen
• Keep the specific kitchen areas clean and hygienic
• Check refrigerators, utensils and kitchen equipment on cleanliness
• Adhere to all the standards of food handling, production, preparation, portioning and presentation
• Assist the senior chefs in preparation and production of all food items
