Job summary

Mox Bank is building a virtual bank from scratch and seeks a skilled backend engineer to join a fast-growing team in Hong Kong. You will contribute to greenfield development, implement RESTful APIs and microservices, and ship software using TDD and CI/CD pipelines.

The role focuses on Kotlin/Java, cloud-native architecture, and scalable data services with PostgreSQL, Aurora, S3, and AWS infrastructure. Collaboration and rapid delivery are essential in this environment.

Qualifications

• Preferably fluent with Kotlin and/or Java.
• Solid experience in back-end development and CI/CD processes.
• Ideally experienced with AWS development environment.
• Quick learner with an ambitious and results driven personality.
• Work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Greenfield development and the continuous improvement of our existing systems.
• Develop RESTful APIs and event driven microservices using Kafka.
• Use Kubernetes and Docker to schedule and run microservices.
• Write high quality, maintainable code using TDD.
• Our technology stack is predominantly Kotlin / Java, but our architecture allows for using the most appropriate language to solve a given problem.
• PostgreSQL, Aurora and S3 for persistence.
• Leverage our elastic AWS infrastructure.
• Practice continuous integration and delivery.
