Job summary

The University of Hong Kong Health System seeks a Clinic Assistant (Senior Technical Assistant rank) to join the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine. The successful candidate will support clinic operations, handle reception duties, and provide clinical assistance to medical and nursing teams.

Applicants should have 5 HKCEE passes or HKDSEE Level 2 with 3 years’ relevant clinic experience, good English and Cantonese, and proficiency in MS Office. Occasional after-hours duties may apply.

Qualifications

• 5 passes in HKCEE including English, Chinese and Mathematics.
• Or minimum Level 2 in HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics, with 3 years’ relevant work experience in clinics and healthcare institutes are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform reception duties, including appointment bookings, registration, referral for specialist consultation and associated general clerical work.
• Handle patients’ and visitors’ enquiries, including feedback and complaints.
• Provide clinical support to medical and nursing teams, including vital sign measurement, performing ECG, venepuncture, and respirator fit test, etc.
• Assist with doctor consultation, minor procedures and arrange follow-up bookings, hospital admission, imaging, report follow up and payment collection.
• Consultation room set up, including ensuring appropriate supply of materials for service provision.
• Handle laboratory specimens.
• Prepare, clean, sterilize and conduct routine inspection of surgical instruments and accessories.
• Assist in teaching, research and learning activities, and community engagement initiatives.
