The Financial Dispute Resolution Centre (FDRC) is an independent, non-profit organisation that provides accessible and impartial dispute resolution services for monetary disputes between financial institutions and their customers, primarily through its “Mediation First, Arbitration Next” approach.
FDRC is seeking a high-calibre and experienced leader to serve as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Reporting to the Board, the CEO has overall executive responsibility for leading FDRC, overseeing the effective operation of the organisation and the proper administration of the Financial Dispute Resolution Scheme. The CEO will set strategic priorities, promote organisational effectiveness, uphold good governance and internal controls, manage financial planning and compliance, and lead engagement with the Government, relevant regulators, financial institutions, professional bodies and other key stakeholders.
The candidate should possess tertiary education qualification and at least 20 years of work experience, including not less than 10 years in senior management or executive positions. He/she should possess a proven track record in developing and implementing organisational strategies, managing resource and budgets. The candidate should be able to engage and mobilise different professional teams to deliver FDRC’s services effectively, and bring the vision, commitment and drive required to lead the organisation in fulfilling its mission.
Professional qualification(s) in alternative dispute resolution, legal or financial services, and/or experience in a public body, regulatory organisation or comparable institution, will be an advantage.
The candidate must be of impeccable integrity and sound judgement. He/she should demonstrate strong leadership, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to engage credibly and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese is required (including fluency in both Cantonese and Putonghua for spoken Chinese).
