Job summary

Leadingnation in Hong Kong seeks a Senior Building Services Engineer to lead on-site supervision of BS installations in new developments. You will coordinate BS Specialist Subcontractors to meet design, quality, and safety standards.

You will drive statutory compliance, manage BEAM Plus, BEEO, and submissions to authorities (WSD, FSD, EMSD) from paperwork to approval, and oversee testing, commissioning, and inspections of key systems with contractors.

Qualifications

• Post-qualification degree in Building Services, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 4+ years of post-qualification PQ experience supervising BS installations in new developments.
• HKIE membership or MHKIE registration preferred; professional registration advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site supervision and coordination of BS installations, ensuring design, quality and safety standards are met.
• Drive statutory compliance and certifications, managing BEAM Plus, BEEO and authority submissions (WSD, FSD, EMSD) from docs to approval.
• Manage handover process with O&M manuals and as-fitted drawings for smooth transition to building management.
• Review and authorize all technical submittals, including shop drawings and materials, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and inspections for key systems and coordinate with specialist contractors.
• Exercise full material and documentation control from procurement to project completion.

• MHKIE (Building Services, Electrical or Mechanical Discipline) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the on-site supervision and coordination of all BS installations, ensuring BS Specialist Subcontractors deliver work that meets design, quality, and safety standards.
• Drive statutory compliance and certifications, taking ownership of BEAM Plus, BEEO, and authority submissions (WSD, FSD, EMSD, etc.) from documentation to approval.
• Manage the critical handover process, compiling Operation & Maintenance manuals and as-fitted drawings to ensure a smooth transition to building management.
• Review and authorize all technical submittals, including shop drawings and materials, ensuring full compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and inspections for key systems such as fire services and plumbing, leading coordination with specialist contractors.
• Exercise full material and documentation control for BS works, maintaining rigor from procurement through to project completion.

Requirements

• Degree in Building Services, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 4 years of relevant post-qualification experience in supervising construction of BS installations in new developments.
• Sound knowledge of MiMEP and DfMA, with experience in MIC.
• Holder of a Certificate of Registration as an Electrical Worker is preferred.
• Membership of the HKIE (Building Services, Electrical or Mechanical Discipline) is a definite advantage.
• Experience in ASD / EMSD / HA projects will be a definite bonus.
• Excellent English and fluent Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin) in speaking and writing.
