Job Purpose: As the Fashion Business scales in size and sophistication, the Boutique Operations Manager plays an important leadership role within the boutique to ensure that operations and processes are compliant and effective to support an industry‑leading client and employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold brand image through robust Boutique SOPs, including General & VM Housekeeping, Boutique Maintenance, Staff Grooming, Asset Protection, Occupational Health & Safety, and other functions.
- Ensure that Boutique SOPs are rigorously followed and implemented, emphasizing compliance to internal standards and external regulations.
- Work with stakeholders to formulate and update Boutique (and Market) SOPs that are pragmatic and applicable for day‑to‑day operations.
- Regularly plan and implement briefings to the boutique staff on Boutique Operations topics.
- Lead the Stock Team, CASS, Boutique Assistants, Alteration (where applicable) and Cashiers to ensure operational procedures regarding sales, discounts, transfers, stock adjustments, after‑sales service and all other policies are followed.
- Manage Team Roster, Vendor relationships, Boutique Procurement matters (where applicable).
- Ensure the team accurately completes daily sales and appropriate paperwork.
- Attend to all day‑to‑day operational issues promptly and astutely.
- When SOPs are unclear, collaborate with relevant stakeholders to support the team in making decisions with the client and brand in mind.
- Build a culture of operations excellence, optimisation and improvement in the boutique.
- Develop time with stakeholders on emerging and "tomorrow" topics such as Omnichannel processes, Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management and Sustainability.
- Constantly seek operational best practices from outside the boutique and apply them.
- Systematically improve operational efficiency in the boutique, including product flow, inventory management, process redesign, etc.
- Lead boutique‑level projects to elevate operational efficiency, client and employee experience.
- Work closely with Office Retail Operations Team to implement relevant operations projects and tools at the boutique level.
- Motivate and inspire the Boutique Support Team in setting the highest standard for client and employee experience.
- Support team members to achieve them at their best through regular development and performance conversations.
- Work with L&D stakeholders on team members’ learning and development plans.
- At least 5 years of retail operation experience, 3 years in team management.
- Previous fashion or luxury industry experience is a plus.
