Job summary

Aquis Search is looking for a hands-on Risk Control & Operations leader for a global B2B payment network client in Hong Kong. You will establish and develop the risk function, set end-to-end processes, SOPs, review standards and operational SLAs.

You will oversee risk-based controls across customer, transaction and on-chain activity, handle complex high-risk payments and lead a team to support near real-time operations while collaborating with Sales, Compliance, Product and Engineering.

Qualifications

• Hands-on risk control and compliance operations experience.
• Experience with cross-border payments and PayTech.
• Ability to review invoices, Bills of Lading and trade docs for authenticity.
• Knowledge of stablecoins and crypto mechanics (USDT/USDC) preferred.
• Experience with KYT and on-chain monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead establishment and development of Risk Control & Operations and define SLAs.

Our client, a global B2B payment network, is looking for a hands-on Risk Control & Operations leader to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the establishment and development of the Risk Control & Operations function, including end-to-end processes, SOPs, review standards and operational SLAs.
• Develop and implement a risk-based control framework covering customer, transaction, trade documentation, fund flows and on-chain activity.
• Oversee the assessment and resolution of complex and high-risk B2B payment transactions, including trade documentation reviews, transaction authenticity and fraud risk.
• Conduct and oversee on-chain transaction monitoring and KYT reviews, assessing stablecoin fund flows and potential exposure to sanctions, illicit activity and other blockchain-related risks.
• Lead and develop the Risk Control & Operations team, establishing appropriate workflows, performance standards and service levels to support real-time or near-real-time B2B payment operations.
• Partner closely with Sales, Compliance, Product, Engineering and other stakeholders to ensure risk controls support sustainable business growth while maintaining regulatory and compliance standards.

Key Requirements:

• Hands-on experience in risk control, compliance operations, cross-border payments, B2B settlement, PayTech or related environments.
• Strong understanding of B2B trade and payment risks, including international trade cycles and supporting documentation.
• Proven ability to identify inconsistencies or authenticity concerns across invoices, Bills of Lading, Customs declarations and related trade documents.
• Strong understanding of stablecoins and cryptocurrency mechanics, particularly USDT and USDC.
• Practical knowledge of on-chain transaction tracing and KYT, with exposure to tools such as Chainalysis, Elliptic or similar platforms.
• Strong judgement, analytical thinking and stakeholder management skills.
