Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking an Awards Researcher to organize its Asian Legal Business events, manage nominations, and coordinate judging processes. The role involves researching opportunities, engaging with leading legal practitioners, and driving high‑quality submissions.

The ideal candidate has strong English skills, robust research and organization abilities, and experience in regional events. Occasional travel is required, with hybrid work options available for office‑based roles.

Qualifications

  • Degree or above; strong spoken and written English.
  • Strong research, analytical and organizational capability.
  • Able to work independently, multitask and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders and customers positively and interactively.
  • 5 years of awards organization, event research, marketing or project management experience preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage research for law awards, including nomination forms, award methodology, and judging packs.
  • Identify opportunities and target markets for local and regional events in Asia; maximise product reach and attract participants.
  • Identify, invite and secure finalists, judges and prestigious guests; coordinate regional efforts.
  • Manage database growth and proactive communications with target audience; outreach to leading companies and C‑level legal practitioners.
  • Oversee event marketing via email campaigns, websites, social media and other platforms.
  • Leverage social media and digital solutions to enhance research, marketing and event experience.
  • Coordinate production of events from conception to completion.
  • Assist with on-site logistical management of events.
  • Conduct pre and post-event evaluation with data, analysis and reports.
  • Collaborate with sales, circulation and editorial to ensure smooth awards processes.

Job description

The Awards Researcher is responsible for organizing Asian Legal Business (ALB) events, such as its series of award programmes and events across Asia.

The incumbent is primarily responsible for managing the nomination and judging process for the awards and the promotion of awards processes, mainly via online marketing, eDM, social media marketing, telephone, and more.

This role may also consist of all aspects of work within the Awards business segment and requires a meticulous attitude toward tasks and a positive personality toward customers and other stakeholders.

About The Role
  • Manages the research for law awards, including the preparation of nomination forms, award methodology, and judging packs
  • Conducts research to identify opportunities and target markets for local and regional events in Asia, maximises the product reach, and brings in potential participants
  • Identifies, invites, and secures the award finalists, judges, and prestigious guests, working closely as part of the team to coordinate the regional efforts
  • Manages database growth and proactive communications with the target audience, such as outreach calls to leading companies and C-level legal practitioners to promote the awards programme and drive high-quality submissions
  • Manages event marketing via e-mail campaigns, websites, social media, and other platforms.
  • Leverages social media and digital solutions to enhance the research process, marketing, and continuous improvement of the awards programme and event experience
  • Coordinates the production of events from conception to completion
  • Assists with the on-site logistical management of events
  • Conducts pre and post-event evaluation, including data, analysis, and reports
  • Works closely with other team functions such as sales, circulation and editorial in order to carry out the awards process smoothly and successfully.
About You
  • Degree or above, strong spoken and written English skills
  • Strong research, analytical and organizational capability
  • Able to work independently, multitask and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders and customers in a positive and interactive manner, creating a strong customer experience
  • 5 years of awards organization, event research, marketing or project management experience is desirable, work experience in regional events/projects is preferred.
  • Knowledge in legal or financial industry is beneficial but not essential
  • Position requires occasional travel (up to 8 times a year), subject to business needs
